Is it morally wrong to put Watchtower behind?
by Darkknight757 inwith our latest and final run in with the elders, the wife and i had a very long talk about what's next in our life.
do we try to help others see the light as it were concerning watchtower or do we just let it go and move on with our life?
we have made it perfectly clear that we will never go back to watchtower and we are finally happy.

How does the overlapping generation ( interpretation) apply to these scriptures ? ,part 2.
by smiddy ini wonder how the overlapping generation interpretation by the wt /jw religion applys to these scriptures reffering to a generation or these generations.. a generation reffering to one that the bible scriptures acknowledge is approximately 50 years in length give or take a few years.. mathtew chap 1:abraham born in 2018 , jesus born in 2 bc , =2016 divided by 42 generations as stated in matthew chapter 1 amounts to 43 years for a generation.. so how does an overlapping generation fit in with the wt interpretation with this scripture for a generation.?.
obviously an overlapping generation does not apply here .. so when does the jw/gb apply an overlapping generaration and when do they not apply an overlapping generation ?.

It works very easily - because God's alleged chosen ones in N.Y. State told them so.
The scriptures below will simply be dismissed with trite explanations;
(Numbers 32:13) "So Jehovah’s anger blazed against Israel and he made them wander about in the wilderness for 40 years, until all the generation that was doing evil in the eyes of Jehovah came to its end."
(Job 42:16) "After this Job lived for 140 years, and he saw his children and his grandchildren—four generations." (140 divided by 4 = 35 years long)
(Matthew 24:34) "Truly I say to you that this generation (33CE - 70C.E) will by no means pass away until all these things happen." (37 years long)

The Noblest Hope?
by JW_Rogue infrom this week's wt study:.
all of us, whether of the anointed or of the “other sheep,” hope to see the fulfillment of god’s original purpose and the sanctification of jehovah’s name.

Revelation 3:14 describes only Jesus as God's faithful and true witness - everyone else had to witness for Christ - not God! There's not a single scripture which says Christians would/should witness for God!

Rutherford conned the Bible Students with his re-branding exercise. Nice job!

The WTBTS exposes itself about shunning!
by The Searcher in"does religious conversion dishonor family traditions or customs?
this need not be the case.
the bible encourages respect for all, regardless of their religion.

"Does religious conversion dishonor family traditions or customs? This need not be the case. The Bible encourages respect for all, regardless of their religion. (1 Peter 2:17) In addition, Jehovah’s Witnesses obey the Bible’s command to honor their parents, even if they have different beliefs." - Ephesians 6:2, 3." https://www.jw.org/en/jehovahs-witnesses/faq/change-religion/
So J.W.'s aren't instructed & obligated by the WTBTS to shun parents who leave the org?
A major investigation of the practices, hypocrisy, and lies of this alleged "charity" is long overdue by the relevant authorities.

" - yet resolutely avoid discussing topics which put their org in a bad light, my "loyalty" question to them would be - "do you accept literature truth over bible truth?
" they will either run or be forced to ask for examples of alleged differences.any other suggestions for "loyalty" questions?.

@ A Believer - "The literature like the bible teach book is used to help understand the scripture."
The literature teaches that "new" scrolls will be opened - during Christ's 1000 years reign - and that they will contain "new teachings."
Revelation 20:1-12 totally repudiates all three of these false teachings by the WTBTS:
there are no "new" scrolls, the scrolls are opened after the 1000 years & after Satan is destroyed, and people are judged by what's in the scrolls - not educated by them! It's there in black & white.
Question: "Are you going to continue to accept what you read in the literature, or what you read in your Bible?"

What a wonderful, gutsy daughter you have, and what a terrible experience for you and your family to go through.
I hope and pray that I live long enough to see this corrupt corporation get thoroughly exposed and suffer irreparable damage for the evil and deception which it has inflicted on so many people.

My Mother reach out to me AGAIN!
by HereIgo inabout 3 weeks ago i created a thread due to my mom reaching out to me (we hadn't talked in over 2 years due to typical jw politics).
well, today she reached out again thought facebook messenger saying " i'm so sorry i hurt you my beautiful baby boy.
i'm hurting very much also.

Herelgo - I truly empathise with you.
As a "devout fader", I'm experiencing similar treatment. Trying to have a discussion about doctrines with J.W.'s can be very precarious - especially so with loved ones - because the truth is that they don't want to hear the truth about their revered organization and its leadership.

Here's a morbid thought...
by Rainbow_Troll init probably will never happen but... imagine the gb recieved some new light that told them the great tribulation was imminent.
the world is going to hell and all jws can expect until armageddon is terrible persecution the likes of which no christian has ever experienced in two thousand years.
but jehovah has a solution: put yourself and your family 'to sleep' and after armageddon's over, jehovah will 'wake his people up' at the resurrection.
